GENERAL SITUATION OF GUIZHOU FORAGE RESOURCES AND RESEARCH ON GROWTH PERFORMANCE OF SEVERAL FORAGES IN SOUTHEAST GUIZHOU
ABSTRACT: Guizhou has excellent natural conditions and is suitable for the growth and reproduction of various forages. Guizhou is rich in wild forage germplasm resources, with a total of 4725 species (including varieties) of 1205 genera in 203 families. Guizhou is rich in grassland resources and has a large grassland area. The scattered grassland and grassland slopes in the province have a total area of 6,430 mu, accounting for 24.3% of the province’s land area. In terms of forage production performance, due to the excellent hydrothermal conditions in Guizhou, the growth performance is higher, which is manifested in the following aspects: (1) tall plants; (2) large ratio of leaves and stems; (3) long utilization period; (4) better reproducibility; This experiment conducted a literature review of the forage resources in Qiandongnan and measured production indicators of common wild forages in Guizhou. In this experiment, four forage grasses, such as tall fescue, Alopecurus aequalis, white clover, and wild pea were selected for plant height, freshtodry ratio, and stemtoleaf ratio. The results show that tall fescue still has a high growth rate from the beginning of May to the middle of May, which is the highest among the four forages; The leaf quantity of white clover is more abundant, and the stemtoleaf ratio of white clover is significantly lower than that of wild pea (P<0.05); Tall fescue has a lower water content, and the freshtodry ratio of wild pea and white clover is significantly higher than that of tall fescue (P<0.05).
