本科院校外籍教师英语口语教学现状调查
现阶段为了满足我国高等教育大众化以及地方经济发展的需求,部分办学条件好实力较强的专科院校通过各种方式升格为本科院校。近年来学校都注重教学方法与国际化接轨。为了更好地提高高校的外语口语教学,引进优秀外籍教师成为高校国际化进程的一个主要趋势。
本文通过研究山东政治青年学院的150名英语专业的学生进行调查,同时访谈5名外籍教师,研究外教基本信息,教学特点,教学资格,课堂学生表现和教学评价五个方面的问题。采用的研究方法是:问卷调查法,访谈法和文献收集法。研究结果发现:外籍教师的优势是教学手段多样,教学氛围活泼,外教自身文化和语言优势受到学生认可和欢迎。不足在于不了解中国学生特点,管理外籍教师不够科学系统,外籍教师教学资质缺乏,教学评价标准不一,教学内容重点不突出。学生自我管理能力差会影响课堂的效果。
对此,本文提出的解决方法和建议是:根据学生需求设定科学合理的教学内容;严格选拔外教;形成外教上课前培训;学生自身要认识外教课重要性,学会自我管理。

English is the carrier of information.According to the survey, the working language of the vast majority of the international organization is English, official language in international intercourse is English, not less than 50 percent of the movie is interpreted in English, in some specific academic fields, more than 80 percent academic papers are written in English, English has played a great role in the promotion of China's reform and opening up and expanded international exchanges to speed up the process of globalization.Society is more and more pay attention to the students' English level.In 2007, the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education issued the "College English curriculum requirements", which has defined every aspect of College English , and put forward corresponding requirements, the paper points out: College English teaching should be guided with related theories , mainly in English language and cultural knowledge and practical ability, cross cultural communication and language learning skills, the union of a variety of teaching methods is of great significance in the teaching system; The goal of college English teaching is to cultivate the students' language application ability, the main purpose is to improve the listening and speaking, so that in the future study, college students can use English for communication in work and life, and enhance their ability of autonomous learning, improve the comprehensive cultural quality,. In this case, how to keep pace with The Times, how to ensure that gradually improve the college students' English level, to meet the needs of the Chinese high-level personnel training in the 21st century and to meet the needs of students' English is an urgent problem.
In order to make the English education of college students better, a lot of foreign teachers have been introduced to the colleges. There are a lot of advantages to introduce them(Qing Zhang). First of all, since they are native speakers, their expressions are more idiomatic. As we all know, many Chinese student are good at reading and writing, while poor in listening and oral English. It is better for these English learners to study with these natives. In addition, those foreigners have English mentality which most of student lack. And the teaching methods of those teachers are also different from that of Chinese teachers.
Every coin has two sides. Many problems related these foreign teachers have also appeared, such as the efficiency of their classes are not so high, several teachers are not qualified to teach, and they don’t have good knowledge of Chinese students.(Yunxia Zhang)

Purpose and significance of the Research
Firstly, this study has analyzed the research data from domestic and foreign studies about teaching situation of foreign teachers. Then on the basis of the analysis, this problem will be further discussed in depth.
Secondly, through the the questionnaire survey of non-English major students in public English courses taught by foreign teachers, we can have a good knowledge of the teaching results and teaching situation in these classes.
Last but not least, according to the research, we can find out the underlying problems and come up with methods to solve these problems of those foreign teachers and their classes.
This study is focused on the newly built undergraduate colleges in Jinan, the results of the survey will be useful for these colleges to administrate foreign teachers and improve the teaching efficiency of their classes.
I. Literature Review
1.1 Foreign studies review
    The foreign scholars compared teachers whose mother tongue is English with those whose are not from following aspects:
   The first aspect is teaching behavior. The teaching behavior between English teachers who are not native speakers and those whose mother tongue is English is totally different. And the difference is closely related with the language. Those teachers whose mother tongue is English can create higher teaching efficiency, and their ability of using this language is remarkably better than those who use English as a foreign language.(Peter Medgyes). While another research conducted by Joseph Boyle has pointed out the advantages and shortcoming in teaching behaviors of those foreigners. And he also illustrated the relationship between the Chinese teachers and foreign teachers whose status in China has also been discussed.
   The second aspect is from the point of the students. One thesis written by David Lasagabaster whose topic is University’s students’ perception of native and Non-native speaker teachers of English has compared the testing results of students who are taught by these two types of teachers. And based on the results, the preference of these two kinds of teachers has also been revealed.
