图式理论在英语阅读中的应用研究
在四项英语基本技能中,阅读所占的比重很大。阅读不仅能让学生学到英语文化背景知识,而且可了解到英语国家的风土人情,进而在扩充知识储备的同时得到乐趣。但是,因为长期受到传统阅读教学的影响,学生通常会忽略与阅读理解紧密相关的背景知识,即图式。随着认知语言学的发展,图式理论越来越成为研究的热点。近来各类英语考试中阅读题目的难度也逐渐增加。很多学生都在阅读这一题型上失分太多从而导致英语考试的失败。所以如何有效地提高学生的阅读理解能力就成了英语教学的重点和难点。本文拟从图式理论出发,以实际课堂设计为研究依据,探讨该理论与英语阅读之间的关系,进而选择合适的图示为英语阅读服务,从而提高学生英语阅读的能力。

As basic language skill, reading becomes more and more significant for English learner, and there are a lot of English learners attached importances to English reading. All kinds of English text take the reading comprehension as the important content of exam. However, unfortunately, Chinese English learners' ability of reading comprehension can not fit for reading practice well. We can find that during the process of English reading teaching, there are lots of students who even though charged grammar and skills of English reading, they can not get a clear cognition about the materials he read as well. The reason towards the above situation is lying on the following. Students only focus on improving their reading skills, and ignoring the background knowledge which connects tightly with reading comprehension. In other words, it is called the accumulation of schema.
Schema theory has adopted widely in English reading in recent years. It provides a new view to English reading from some different aspects such as cognitive psychology. Schema theory has positive signification of direction towards the process and type of English reading. And there are more and more English teachers have paid attention to the reading model it advocates. The objective of this research is to learn schema theory and its effects on the comprehension of English reading, what's more, try the best to obtain or find efficient strategies in English reading.

1.1 Research Background and Significance of the Study
As it is known to us all, English is a language that becomes one of the major international languages nowadays, meanwhile, English is also a language that has widely used all over the world. As China moving towards international step by step, the education of English plays a more important role in school education. Reading can enlarge students' knowledge, motivate students' interest of studying, enhance the sense of English language of students, and improve their English levels. We can also learn the importance of reading from the other side. At present, it takes reading as the most important part in all kinds of English exam, such as college entrance examination and so on. Besides, the reading part has gotten larger and larger in whole English text. Let's take one example. In nowadays' college entrance examination of English, the total points is 150, and the point of reading comprehension is 40, of cloze is 30. So, these two kinds of reading have charged almost half points. Then, we can see the role of reading in English exam. In senior high school entrance examination these years, not only the amount of reading topic has increased, but also the degree of difficulty has increased. Owing to the above situation, many students have lost too many points in English reading subject, and then lead to failure of English exam. Thus, how to improve students' reading ability has turned into the main point of English teaching in junior high. Schema theory is the important theory in modern reading. So, I hope that we can find efficient strategies by researching the relation between English reading and schema theory.
