儒家文化术语翻译现状研究
作为中国最重要的文化软资源之一，儒家文化如何走向世界，一方面让世界更深入地了解中国、理解中国文化，一方面提升中国的文化软实力，增强中国综合国力、提高在国际事务中的影响力，都是厄待解决的课题。在儒家文化的翻译中，许多关键术语频繁出现，恰当地翻译这些经典术语，对翻译的成败起着至关重要的作用。
有许多国内外学者撰文研讨关于儒家文化关键术语的翻译问题。本文将围绕儒家文化关键术语的翻译现状展开进一步的讨论，意图找出儒家文化术语翻译的特点，有助于我们更好地传播中华文化，深化东西方文化的交流对话。
本文由下面四部分构成：第一部分是概述部分，介绍了本文的研究背景及意义。第二部分主要介绍了儒家文化关键术语，其中包括关键术语的特点及选择，以及关键术语选择的原因。第三部分是本文的主体部分。主要从多角度论述了儒家文化关键术语的翻译现状。具体从翻译的数量、翻译内容、翻译方法策略、翻译动机目的以及翻译的影响角度进行研究。第四部分总结了儒家文化关键术语翻译的特点。

 With the exchange of the political, economic and culture between China and the outside world, the C-E translation is placed in a more prominent position, and its importance is growing. How to successfully carry out this work has attracted more and more researchers’ attention. Confucian culture is the essence of Chinese traditional culture and ideology. The translation of Confucian culture can be regarded as one of the important ways of its development. The Analects of Confucius, as the carrier of the Confucian classic literature and key terms, is translated into English by many scholars both at home and abroad. In the translation process, many key terms appear frequently. The translation of these key terms plays a decisive role in the translation process.
We can easily find out that the translations are influenced by many factors. This paper would have a further discussion about current study about the translation of key terms in Confucian culture from different perspectives. The study about the translation of key terms in Confucian culture, on one hand, can help us to understand Confucian cultural translation theory better; on the other hand, it plays an important part in the translation teaching and translation practice of Chinese traditional culture.

Chapter 1  The Background and Significance of the Thesis

Since the reform and opening up, the independent politics, the booming economy and the rejuvenated culture has continuously strengthened Chinese comprehensive national strength, and made China play a more and more important role in international affairs. As far as comprehensive national strength is concerned, in the global information age, although the traditional “hard” power including economy, military, science and technology, and mineral resources is still important, the cultural soft resources influence and cultural soft power have become an important indicator in measuring the comprehensive strength of a country or a region; Since the reform and opening up, China has a rapid economic development and a growing national strength. As a result, western society desires to know more about China and the traditional culture; Various contradictions in western modern society continues to intensify, and the human crisis deepens increasingly, so the West tries to find a wise way from the Confucianism; And China pays more attention to keeping and carrying forward the fine cultural traditions of their own, deepening the translation of Chinese classics. In this context, Confucian culture, which is Chinese most important cultural soft resources, go to the world. The key of making Confucian culture go to the world is to translate the key terms in Confucian culture correctly.
The research significance lies in as follows: firstly, it could make the public have a clearer mind of the historic status and eternal value of excellent traditional culture represented by Confucian culture and improve the culture self-awareness and confidence. Secondly, it could help to improve Chinese cultural soft power, strengthen the say and influence of China in international stage.
Through the analysis of the existing research achievements, it is apparent that by now there is still not any works making comprehensive research on the current situation of the translation of key terms in Confucian culture. Therefore, in this circumstance, this research has both theoretical value and realistic significance. In this paper, the author will analyze the current situation of the translation of key terms in Confucian culture from different perspectives and try to pose suggestions in order to better promote Confucian culture to the world.
