基于概念隐喻的英语歌词翻译研究
随着国际间经济文化交流的不断深入，音乐作为文化的一部分，它的跨国交流也日益频繁。在中西音乐文化交流中，常涉及到英文歌词的翻译问题，如何将国外的优秀的英文歌词翻译成大家容易理解、接受、喜爱和传唱的歌曲，是一个值得研究的课题。本研究以概念隐喻为理论基础，在分析了英语歌词的特点以及英语歌词翻译中所遇到的问题的基础上，从概念隐喻的视角，研究了英文歌词翻译中的四种隐喻手段：结构隐喻、方位隐喻、实体隐喻和混合隐喻，并提出了有价值的翻译策略。本研究旨在为英文歌词翻译者提供有价值的理论和实践指导，提高翻译者的跨文化交际意识和能力。

Introduction
With the development of the society, west society of the person walk into our visual field with thing more and more, in that case, it is also the way to promotecultural exchanges between countries. Now, the popularity of the west popular songs is extremely high in China. Listening to English songs is especially popular with young people, but most of people just focus on the melody rather than English Lyrics, they could not fully understand the real meaning in the lyrics behind cultural differences. And the lyrics translation plays an important role in helping us understand the lyrics, and at the same time, lets us learn western culture. In 1980, Lakoff and Johnson co-authored a book namedMetaphor We Live by, and it abandoned the traditional theory of metaphor study, and proposed The cognitive view of metaphor. Integrated Lakoff and Johnson's work and Fu Yin Li, Min Zhang’s views, Richards put forward the view of interation and it means that the meaning of two words will affect each other. and as we all know, Conceptual metaphor is a basic tool to help me do the translation. My paper aims to give the specific definition on relevance theory so as to help the listeners better to understand the English lyrics.
The body of my paper is divided into five parts. The first part is the introduction of the relevance theory. In the second part, I will have an overview on the relevance theory and talk about its development. The next two parts are the body of my paper and play an important role. In the third part, factors affecting the translation of English lyrics will be presented. In the fourth part, this paper will introducefour metaphors in English lyrics translation. I will also give some examples when Introducing those strategies. The last part is my conclusion which firstly summarizes all the main contents and then indicates the limitation of my research and the suggestions for further study.
2The Overview of Metaphor Theory
2.1The Definition of Conceptual Metaphor Theory
To sum up, the conceptual metaphor theory has greatly broadened , Most of the traditional metaphor theories regard metaphor as a rhetorical device. Considered as a abnormal phenomenon in language. In 1980, Lakoff and Johnson co-authored a book namedMetaphor We Live by, which abandoned the traditional theory of metaphor study, and proposed “The cognitive view of metaphor”, integrated Lakoff and Johnson's work and Fu Yin Li, Min Zhang’s views, we can generalize their views of metaphor and research results into conceptual metaphor theory.
1) Metaphor is  a means of cognition
Metaphor, which we used to understand abstract concepts,is the primary mechanism for abstract reasoning. Let us use more specific、highly organized structure, it will help us understand something relatively abstract or relatively. It includes many topics , and especially for it’s profound scientific theories , which can only be understood through metaphor. So we can sum up these words that metaphor is a means of cognition.
2) The essence of metaphor is the objective fact
Fundamentally, metaphor is the objective fact, rather than the language level. The mapping of metaphor across concept domains is partial and asymmetric. Each mapping is a series of fixed ontology correspondence between the source domain and target domain.Once those fixed correspondence is activated, the mapping can project the reasoning pattern of the source domain onto the reasoning mode in the target domain, so the conceptual metaphor is the mapping aross domains.
2.2The Development of Metaphor Theory
Conceptual metaphors are seen as language forms ofexpressionin our everyday lives. Conceptual metaphor studies began in the late 90's of last century, and it rise slowly from 2000s to 2002s. The large-scale conceptual metaphor’s research work started from 2003sto 2005s.At the following six years, the number of papers increased year by year. On the whole, the study of conceptual metaphor shows a rising trendin China. In the 90's,with the increase of cultural exchanges between Chinese and western culture, foreign language teaching materials and linguistic theories have become familiar to the domestic academic circles. Especially the conceptual metaphor theory ofJohnson and Lakoff. As people's understanding of metaphor has changed from the original metaphor as a means of trope, to which the meaning of metaphor has bring. The essence of metaphor is a way of thinking of human beings, and then, the essence of metaphor is a way of thinking of human beings. Lakoff proposed conceptual metaphor, and and made a further study of metaphor. Integrated Lakoff and Johnson's work and Fu Yin Li, Min Zhang’s views, Richards put forward the view of interation and it means that the meaning of two words will affect each other.  It has potential influence on the way of our understanding the world and plays a very important role in human conceptual thinking and reasoning process, which is the result about level of continuous improvement in human understanding, and at the same time it is the product about human progress and development of the philosophy . On the basis of the conceptual metaphor, many experts and scholars will carry out the related research.
