基于语域理论的商务英语合同翻译研究
随着世界经济全球化的迅速发展，我国的对外经济贸易越来越活跃。商务合同是信息传递和国际贸易业务交易的主要工。然而，商务合同翻译研究的现状并不尽如人意，因此商务合同翻译逐渐进入研究者的视野。本文首先介绍商务英语合同翻译研究的发展、研究的目的与意义。其次阐述该研究的理论框架。接着，以具体文本为例分析语域理论的三个变量在合同文本中的具体表现。进而，去提出商务英语合同翻译的原则和策略。

1  Introduction
Along with the rapid development of the world economic globalization and integration, our country’s foreign economic and trade become more and more active. And, international exchanges become more frequent. Business English has become the essential communication tool of language in economic activities. As the main means of transmission of information and transacting business in the international trade, business contracts obtain a lot of applications and popular attention. However, the current situation of business contract translation is not satisfactory. It is relatively fragmented of the research on differences between business contract text and other commercial contract text.
By researching and studying many scholars’ works, I found, as one of the core theories in systemic functional linguistics, register theory is widely applied in business contract translation. In 2005, Li Xia introduced the register into English to Chinese translation in his paper. He stuck to the significance of register theory in theory and practice and put them into the study of business contract translation. Another scholar Ru Fei(2008), from the perspective of three variables in register theory, analyzed representations of them in the text of contracts to study the various aspects of contract translation. Furthermore, Sun Beibei(2015) in The Research on Translation of English Business Contracts in the View of Register Theory, presented some difficulties to the translation of business contracts. Then she put forward corresponding principles and strategies from a register perspective. In these scholars’ works, the register features in the source text are successfully expressed by analyzing three variables: field, tenor and mode. This method of analyzing plays a great role of promoting the development of business contract translation. This conclusion gives a great revelation to my paper content. Thus, I decide to analyze representations of three variables of register theory in the contract text combing with concrete text and put foward principles and strategies on translating. Nevertheless, one point needs to be emphasized:  whatever the point of penetration of our study is chosen, the ultimate goal couldn’t be changed, that is, the veracity and normalization of business English contract translation.
With regard to the arrangement of my paper, I will divide the body into four parts. The first part is the introduction that includes the significance of business English contract translation and research purpose of this thesis. In the second part, I will elaborate the definition, development and three variables (field, tenor and mode) of Halliday’s register theory. And I also will introduce the application and study of register theory in translation. The third part is the most important part. I decide to analyze representations of three variables of register theory in the contract text combing with concrete text. Finally, from the perspective of this, I will put forward the principles and strategies of translation in business contract.
