归化翻译在电影字幕中的运用-《米尔克》个案分析[20200209195200]
摘要:众所周知,电影已然成为对外进行文化传播的重要工具之一。在电影向外传播的过程中,字幕翻译发挥着不可或缺的功用。由于中英文化、语言之间存在较大差异,如果将英语电影字幕直接翻译过来,可能使汉语观众对电影内容产生误解或者理解偏差,在字幕翻译中采用得当的字幕翻译策略能使目的语观众快速、准确地获得有效信息。而且,电影字幕翻译的自身特点给电影字幕翻译提出了较高要求,字幕既要准确传递原语言的语言及文化,还要让观众在有限的时间内理解。从而,归化就成了理想的翻译策略。只有运用归化翻译,让目的语观众能过接受电影信息,才能够使面向目的语国家的影片广泛传播。本文就关于归化翻译在电影字幕中的运用就行探究与讨论,并以李二仕、朱与墨翻译字幕,获得金球奖、美国演员工会奖、奥斯卡金像奖等奖项的电影《米尔克》为例子,来分析在文化、政治背景差异背景下,在电影字幕中的运用中选择归化翻译策略的合理性。

Chapter One Introduction
With fast development of society, cultural communications between countries are more frequent and intenser. Movies, an important medium for cross-cultural communication, are playing a pivotal role in ordinary people’s daily life and they are becoming more and more popular for entertainment. Movies transfer messages, to show a different and colorful life to a foreign culture. Some can even satisfy the audience’s needs for artistic enjoyment. When a movie is being played, the translated subtitle becomes a direct way to unfold the exotic culture before the audience’s eyes.
But different languages originated from different culture background and have different expression mechanisms. Translating subtitles involves adjustments and compromises to let them be understood by the audience. So translators need to have a thought-over as to which strategy to employ before they start to translate. They need to take characteristics of strategies like domestication and foreignization and so on into account so that they make a wise choice. Because of the difference between the target language and the original language, first thing should be considered is, how to let the subtitle translation show the original cultural messages and connotations.
This thesis believes that domestication is a very good choice for subtitle translation, because it can make the audience understand the subtitle accurately and more easily. It will focus on talking about characteristics of domestication as a translation strategy and   of subtitle translation, and then will unfold a case study of the movie Milk to justify its proposal.
Actually there are already a lot of pioneers in this domain. Domestication as a term of translation studies is first used by Lawrence Venuti (1995) and then found its way as an entity into Dictionary of Translation Studies (1997). E. A. Nida talks about
